Adult Classes

Our adult classes are ideal for both beginning and experienced artists alike. These unique courses focus on the fundamentals and on building existing skills. This will allow each student to explore their own creativity at their own pace.

Safety: To accommodate social distancing for our in-person courses, we have reduced our class sizes. Masks requirements are evaluated on a class-by-class basis. All students in an in-person class will have to sign a release to agree to follow our Covid-19 safety measures prior to the first on-site class. To register for in-person adult courses, students are required to show proof of vaccination per our Board of Directors' Covid-19 policy.

Open Studios: Current adult students who'd like more time to create outside of class are invited to register for our 3-hour open studio sessions. Students must sign up online by midnight the night before the open studios. See more information through this link.

Monoprinting | Thurs. Mornings

In-person | 4 weeks | Thursday, 10 AM – Noon | April 13 – May 4, 2023

Teacher: Christine Walinski

Details: Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that produces unique and unexpected results. The process allows for playful freedom in the approach to creating imagery. As monoprinting is a great way of encouraging people to work quickly and loosen up their drawing skills, we will spend some time drawing from simple, organic still life and nature for inspiration. These images will be used to create a series of line drawn monoprints. We will also paint directly on the printing plate, exploring additive and reductive techniques.

This is a simple, spontaneous and fun way to introduce yourself to printmaking without a press. Come and explore the incidental qualities and textural possibilities of printmaking and how it can give your drawing and painting a new twist.

Materials: Students will be given ink, paper, and printing brayers.

Course Price: Includes tools necessary to make prints and four 2-hour class dates.

Class Size and Safety: Eight students max per class. In-person classes have reduced class sizes to accommodate indoor social distancing. Vaccinations and boosters are required effective September 2022 for in-person adult courses. This is a mask-optional class.

Ages: 18 years and older.
