Student and Teacher Art Expo



In-person | Friday, October 1st, 2021. 6 - 8 PM



Details: We would like to extend a warm welcome to the Whitemarsh Art Center community (teachers, students, staff, and their families) and to other regional art aficionados to attend our expo. Our celebration will feature dynamic artwork from 2021. If interested, students and teachers are invited to say a few words about their creations. We look forward to interacting with students and to celebrating their accomplishments.


Location: Our front room gallery.


Art Submissions: Please submit artwork to the Whitemarsh Art Center office by Tuesday, September 28th at 5 PM and fill out a drop-off form with artwork details.


Registration: As a safety measure, we're limiting the number of people inside the building at once. Please register to attend through this link. Tickets are limited.



Big Tiny Art Show. 6" x 6" Showcase Fundraiser

Details: Good things come in small packages! Our "Big Tiny Art Show" features original work donated by our talented instructors, students, staff, and art community. Sale proceeds will support our non-profit art center. We'll have an online event gallery, artist talk, and Zoom launch party (cocktail attire and homemade martinis are optional). Mini masterpieces will include small paintings, ceramics, and more. Each original artwork is around 6" x 6" in size or smaller and is $66!



Plein Air Competition



Outdoors & In-Person | Saturday, June 19th, 2021 | Past Event



Details: Our annual Plein Air Competition was in-person this year. Artists got the back of their blank canvases stamped at our art center in the morning, painted or drew outdoors wherever they wanted, and then brought their finished pieces to our art center by 5 PM.

Animal Portrait Competition

Past Event Details: Calling all creative spirits! We invite you to join us for our 1st Animal Portrait Competition. Modeled on our popular Plein Air Event and Still Life Competition, spend the day painting or drawing an animal portrait from the comfort of your own home. Get inspiration from an animal photograph or from real life. Create your work of art in unison with regional artists, see their progress photos, and compete for a series of prizess.


Times: Start as late as you want but no earlier than 8 AM. Turn work in online by 5 PM.


Prizes: Over $500 in prizes. Entry: $25 art center members, $30 residents, $35 non-members
