DETAILS: Our annual Gregory J. Nowak Memorial Plein Air Competition will be held at historic Abolition Hall. Artists will get the back of their blank canvases stamped in the morning, paint or draw outdoors wherever you'd like, and then bring the finished pieces back to by 4 PM. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM.
ENTRY FEE: $30 art center members, $35 residents, $40 non-members
REGISTER: Sign-up by Friday, April 26 to participate.
PRIZES: Awarded by our guest judge Hildy Tow:
•. $300 first prize, $200 second prize, $100 third prize.
• Awarded by artists' choice vote: $75 for adults (18+), $75 for kids.
•. Gift certificates will be awarded for honorable mentions..
SCHEDULE: 8 AM, we'll welcome competitors at the homestead of Abolition Hall where we will begin stamping blank canvases, paint or draw outdoors wherever you'd like. Late risers are welcome to start later but will have less time to create. You are welcome to find a spot on the Corson Tract (Abolition Hall) grounds or create in the place you find most inspiring. Turn in your work by 4 PM. The award ceremony begins at 6:30 PM, Artist’s Choice Award votes must be submitted by at 5:30 PM.
